Managing large orchestrations.

Resolving special instrumentation issues in contemporary music

Refined sound imagination.

Mode of study

Lecture and exercises - 2 hours/week.

Prerequisites and co-requisites

Knowledge of the technical and sound potential of instruments.

Basic instrumenting skills.

Course contents

a) instrumentation of more complicated works for larger groups (symphony orchestra)

b) supplementing detailed knowledge of instrument and color combination potential

c) score analysis from an instrumentation perspective.
