Learning outcomes of the course unit

Introduction to composition methods and principles of music of the 2nd half of the 20th century and contemporary music. Acquisition of skills in the application of knowledge.

Knowledge from the previous semester.

Course contents

a) Thorough introduction to the main development currents in music history of the 20th century.

b) Instruction focuses primarily on the fundamentals of dodecaphonic composition methods

c) Serial and modal procedures

d) Probability principles and minimal music principles.

e) Monitoring that the students employ all impulses in innovation in their music language.
