Learning outcomes of the course unit

Recognition of basic issues in the history and development of the structure of the instrument. Development of instrument playing and literature for a given instrument. Issues in selecting a repertoire and constructing a program. Use of literature, historical and contemporary audio and video recordings and other programs.

Course contents

The curriculum originates in the historical progression and study of trade literature, relationship of literature and history of performance from the Baroque to the present.
