Learning outcomes of the course unit
Mastery of manner of play in symphony orchestras. Instrument and performance mastery of orchestra composition repertoire. An emphasis is placed on flexibility in technique for mastering a composition in the shortest possible time, independent part preparation in bowing, fingering. Introduction to the practical side of playing in an orchestra - following conductor gestures, collective manner of performance thought, tuning and intonation, the role of the concert master and leading groups.

Orchestra literature from the Baroque and Classical periods.

Scores and orchestral parts of Baroque, Classic, Romantic and modern era works. Audio and video recordings of studied works.
