Learning outcomes of the course unit

Mastering the manner of playing in a symphony orchestra, managing the compositions of an orchestra repertoire with the instrument and in performance. Emphass is placed on technique flexibility in mastering a composition is the shortest possible time, independent preparations of parts in bowing and fingering. Introduction to the practical side of playing in an orchestra - following conductor gestures, collective performance thought, tuning and intonation, the role of the concert master and prominent groups.

Orchestra parts and solos from the Romantic to the 20th century.

Recommended or required reading

Scores and orchestra parts of the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and modern eras. Audio and video recordings of the studied works.
