Learning outcomes of the course unit
Managing the manner of playing in a symphony orchestra. Instrument and interpretation mastery of orchestral repertoire. Emphasis is placed on technical flexibility to master a composition in the shortest possible time. Independent preparation of a part in the bowing and fingering aspects. Introduction to the practical side of playing in an orchestra - following conductor's gestures, collective manner of interpretive thought, tuning and intonation, the role of the concert master and leading groups.

Scores and orchestra parts of Baroque, Classical, Romantic and modern works. Audio and video recordings of studied works.
