Learning outcomes of the course unit

For AMU students it is important, during study, to learn an instrument which is related to their studies and which they will surely encounter in practice. For example: for Trumpet, the Cornet, Flugelhorn, high-pitched trumpets, so called Aida trumpet and finally the natural trumpet - Clarion. In French horn study the natural and innovated horns, Wagner horns, etc. In Trombone study, the tenor horn (bass Flugelhorn), alto trombone and the so called, unused, valve trombone. For tuba study, higher pitched tubas, for example: in E flat, in F and Cimbasso, which is again used today, primarily in Italian repertoire of the 19th and 20th century.

Course contents

It is desirable to introduce the student to the instrument they have selected for this study. This is usually an instrument which is not usually commonly available and the student must verify if this particular specialization is appropriate. For brass instrument it is necessary to, first of all, resolve the mouthpiece issue for the instrument and introduce the basic fingerings or know how to do without this (natural instrument without mechanics). This should be the main task of this course. The literature is only of an instructive nature, supplemented at times, in which this instrument is used.
