This course is linked to the Seminar of Folkdance for Choreography 1. In the second semester more space is given for student individual work.

Course contents
The main content of the second semester of the course is the independent choreographic work of the students. The task is to create a short choreography on a selected music basis which must come from an inspiration in folklore. This is a partitura from serious or popular music (ex: Leoš Janáček: Sinfonietta, compositions by the group Čechomor, etc.). The work proceeds in the following steps"
selection of music basis, its study and analysis;
style definition of the music basis and selection of movement material which corresponds to the music inspiration source;
creation of a movement motifs, choreography spatial treatment;
stylization of the selected folkdance elements in tune with the music basis style;
overal choreography idea;
creation of contrasting choreography sequences without us of folkdance movement material, discussions over style changes in both choreography versions.
