Learning outcomes of the course unit
The aim is to acquire theory knowledge and skills it the extent so they may be able to reconstruct (implement) a pre-Romance dance style based on choreographies recorded either in notation or verbal description.
Mode of study
Practical in a dance hall. Introduction and gradual mastery of individual dance elements and subsequent reconstruction of a repertoire according to sources.
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Average knowledge of classical dance technique. Completion of Survey of the History of Dance and Ballet 2 and Interpretation Practice. Movement coordination and good movement memory.
Course contents
Fundamental principles of Rokoko dance technique, differences from the Baroque and Classic. Posture, step combinations and sequences(enchainements). Types of dance, port de bras. M. Gardel's Rokoko menuet.
