Effective variability of combinations of dance elements with a consideration of, not only precise execution, but with an emphasis on increasing strength, musicality and artistry.

Course contents

In this course a unique model lesson for instruction of classical dance is developed. The starting point is the Vaganova method, embroadened by important influences by other systems, ex: Cecchetti and Balanchine, which are divided into exercises at the barre, creating large logical sets of exercises, subsequent exercises in the center - on relaxation. Predominantly, these begin with exercises at the barre, plies (recently also warm-ups are introduced), followed by battement tendu simple, battement tendu jete (degage), rond de jambe par terre, rond de jambe en l'air, battement fondu, battement frappes, adagio (exercising slow expansions, such as developpe and battement relevelent and arabesque, attitude, ecarte) and grand battement. Releves and port de bras exercises are spread throughout the entire a la barre section. Au millieu usually begins with adagio, then is followed by tendu exercises and degage and waltz steps with a number of phrase elements and pirouettes. The class ends with a series of exercises, petit allegro with small fast jumps and grand allegro - big jumps. At the close; reverence, dance bow to the instructor and pianist. The class for women places an emphasis on practice en pointe. Men's classes focus on large turning jumps and grand pirouettes.

The instruction characteristics, level and aims are, of course, focused on the basics of classical dance, instruction of fundamental basic elements, stance and posture
