Learning outcomes of the course unit
Course content is an acquaintance with the basic concepts and historical development of the field, institutions and Czech Republic culture policy, financing of dance arts (state budget, grant system, active fundraising), production issues in independent projects and cultural organization management. It also covers project and long-term managment, PR, dance advertisement and marketing. Part of the course also covers basic legal knowledge of copyright and arts organization and their function.
Mode of study
Lectures by guest professionals in the field with exercises.
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Completion of the Fundamentals of Dance Production course is recommended.
Course contents
Course content is an introduction to the fundamental concepts and historical development of the field, institutions and cultural policies of the Czech Republic, financing of the dance arts (state budget, grant system, active fundraising), independent project production issues and managing kultural organizations, project and long-term management, PR, advertisement and marketing of dance. A part of the course is, as well, fundamental knowledge of copyright and arts organizations and their functioning.
