Learning outcomes of the course unit

This course explains the basic events and concepts of physical, spatial and musical acoustics.

Basic knowledge of math and physics.

Course contents

1.Oscillation and its basic dimensions

  1. dampened and non-dampened oscillations, resonance
  2. Compostion of oscillations, harmonic tones, spectrum
  3. Wave in point order and its basic dimensions
  4. Gradual longitudinal and transverse waves
  5. wave reflection, interference, rise of standing longitudinal and transverse waves
  6. Spatial waves, plane and spherical waves
  7. Wave spread in gas, liquid and solid environments
  8. Huyghen's principle, wave spread around a barrier, reflection and bending waves
  9. The Doppler principle, boundary conditions, Chladni patterns
  10. Basic acoustic dimensions and their interpretation.
  11. Excursions to non-echoic locations, their use and physical properties.
