Learning outcomes of the course unit

This course provides students with the widest sense of the first basic overview of the artistic and technical aspect of working with sound and introduces tactics and strategies of sound communication as an artistic profession.

Space selection. Placing performers. Microphone technology

Recording technology selection. Sound check. Recording organization

Sound post-production. Its basic tools and procedures

Sound mixing and assembly, artistic room, equalization. mastering

Sound retouching, restoration and reconstruction

Sound design directing. Its basic tools and procedures

Sound design of an audio-visual work „offline,“ „online.“ Theatre and musical sound

Electronic sound and its execution

Principles of sound synthesis and their hardware and software

Execution and presentation of electro-acoustic music

History and present of tools and procedures in electro-acoustic music

Music directing. Tactics and strategies in teamwork in executing sound works

Technical, acoustic and psychological aspects of listening to sound works

Sound quality, its techniques, aesthetics and artistic interpretation

Sound training. Music and „sound“ ear. Sound experience and memory.
