Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will be capable of solo and chamber music performances as either the lead of a group of percussion instruments or solois in symphonic orchestra.

Mode of study

Individual and group consultations. Minimum of 6 hours per semester.

Course contents

Part of the main study. Expansion of basic playing technique (Starting for multi-percussion and other percussion instruments) - technique exercises, etudes. Orchestral studies - solos and parts of symphonic and chamber repertoire. Solo concert compositions for small drum. Basics of „marching drumming“, rudiments.

Initiative and creative approach throughout the semester. Performance in department exams (1st. year). Possible year's concert (in repetition of couse in later years of study - graded by the instructor).
