Learning outcomes of the course unit
The instruction focus lies in the study and analysis of selected compositions of the Baroque and Classic Style. Review of fundamentals in counterpoint, harmony and musical forms.
Mode of study
Demonstration using masterpiece scores.
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Presumed knowledge of forms, harmony, counterpoint and instrumentation ath the conservatory graduate level and impeccably good in reading scores.
Course contents
Instruction material originates in the assignments of individual students. Each student is required, at least once during the semester, to present a paper and participate in discussions on the papers of other students and others presented by the instructor.

Assessment methods and criteria
Credit is awarded based on participation in class, development and presentation of a semester paper which is presented in class.
Overall grading is comprised of 60% for class participation and 40% for the paper presentation.
