Learning outcomes of the course unit

The aim of the two -semester course is, in connection to the propedeutics study based on dialogue and acting in an original project,

  1. Develop the sensitivity of the student to body impulses, develop improvisational, characteristic and presentation skills.
  2. Inform the student of the potential of acting (targeting, specificity, composition, communication).
  3. Inform the students of the role rehearsal process in order to demonstrate conscious and independent work on a role in interplay with others.

Mode of study

Regular study practice in groups, 1x/week, 4 instruction units.

Prerequisites and co-requisites

At least 1 year of study at the Department of Authorial Creativity and Pedagogy. Completion of Propedeutics and based on fundamentals of dialogue. Completion (or. concurrent study) of Acting in a Creative Project.

Course contents

Developed skills:

Public solitude and focus.

Imitation and personal expression.

Radiating.

Individual and collective improvisation.

Path to presentation and path to a role.

Text as a starting point for a figure.

Characterization and its potential.

Self-testimony and its limits.

Work on stage presentation.

Syllabus:

  1. Dramaturgical preparations.
  2. Analysis of personal and characteristic topics and their development.
  3. Active situation analysis.
  4. Composition and preparation for the summary presentation.

Assessment methods and criteria

Independent reading, on-going preparations for partial assignments, independent trials of developed situations are required throughout the semester. The overal grade is comprised of 50% for exercise participation, 30% original input adn 20% artistic quality of performance at the summary presentation.
