Learning outcomes of the course unit
The course Set-design Theory introduces students to not only the history of the trade but mainly its theory fundamentals which enable the students to apply principles of set-design in the instruction of the graphic elements of the study and in their application in artistic practice.
- Concepts (set-design terminology).
Students are introduced to the basic concepts nad their particulars in the peformance trade, their purpose and importance in societal practice.
- Students, through lectures and subsequent classes, are presented with viewpoints appied in set-design and knowledge arising from teh development of the trade from its beginnings in interpretation through developmental changes to contemporary and current interpretation.
- Students are introduced also to general graphic arts theory.

Lectures. Text analyses. Set design and visual arts theory. Course paper on a given theory topic.
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Knowledge of Fine Arts History.

Theory status about the Renaissance and Baroque.
