To learn to read reality before writing it. Checking of one's talent. Writing and an understanding of the world.

Mode of study

Lecturer readings, moderated discussions and interpretation activities.

Prerequisites and co-requisites

The desire to investigate the mystery of the world through speech.

Course contents

Curriculum:

  1. The concept of writing in history.
  2. Subjective standpoints.
  3. Hermeneutics.
  4. Attempts.

Syllabus:

Learn how to read before writing. Writing as a way of understanding the world. Risk of aggresive profiling in a cynical time. Lévinas' Speech as Responsibility for the Other. Learn to write? To act? Or to read? Shouldn't writing be preceded by the humility of reading? Can you expect the gift of speech without it?

Poetry translation. What rhythm means. Mimesis of translation.
