Learning outcomes of the course unit

  1. Fundamentals of music and sound theory and creations as a part of theatre expression - the path to the dramaturgy of the sound element of as staging.
  2. Sound and tone, music as the crown of the organization of tone material in time, strength, pitch and color.

Prerequisites and co-requisites

A good bearing in music notation. Audiatory and rhythm requirements.

Course contents

Sound as a part of theatre expression. Basics of music theory as a part of the acting profession in alternative and puppet theatre.

  1. Basic music concepts, pitch organization of tones, time-space of music, color space of music, phrasing, assisting recital markings, bearing in a score.
  2. Introduction to music forms.
  3. Introduction to theatre sound technology issues.
  4. Issues in sound recording and its editing on a PC.
