Learning outcomes of the course unit
Student has advanced knowledge in the field of lighting, sound and video technology including their connections.
The student is able to understand available techological devices and apply their use in the creation of a specific staging.
The student understands the value of technological advancements and their potential for optimization in staging procedures and processes, and the potential to formulate new procedures using technology in their staging practice.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Pre-requisite: completion of 204ZJT1 Basics of Stage Technology or a basic knowledge and skills in the field of stage technology (lighting, sound, video).
Course contents
The aim of this elective course is the creation of a multi-media composition on an assigned topic either individually or in groups with an emphasis on dramaturgical anchoring and development of the topic and subsequent application of individual technology.
The course expands basic knowledge of mastering stage technology and introduces students to the potential use of multi-media technology in theatre. Emphasis is placed on the technical aspect of linking sound, lighting and video systems, and their dramaturgical significance. Individual classes are linked together and direct students to the creation of the final multi-media result.
Instruction is ensured by a group of instructors in which one is focused on the dramaturgical structure of the composition and is present at each class. The others are experts for individual technologies and take part in only some classes.
Lesson Plan:
I. Lecture: Introduction to audio-visual works, theatre examples and other types of art (T. Procházka).
The task of the semester topic for multi-media composition (A. Vanišová).
Task: formulate an idea of how to create the assigned topic, form: multi-media composition.
II. Class: Presentation of student ideas of the assigned topic. Discussion of individual ideas with an emphasis on the dramaturgical anchoring, possible directions of development of the idea to (technological) implementation (A. Vanišová).
Task: Contribute simple video material for the topic (one's own video, edited video, reference).
III. Class: Video technology - a video system and its components, depiction devices and their characteristics, types of image surfaces, recording devices and their use, software for video editing (Adobe Premiere), software for dispatch (Resolume Arena) (E. Bartoš).
Discussion: group consultations on student ideas in the context of video technology use for its implementation (A. Vanišová).
IV. Class: Sound technology - live sound (types of microphone, their use, accessories, signal characteristics), software (Ableton), speakers systemss, their components and characteristics (T. Procházka).
Discussion: group consultations on student ideas in context of use of sound technology for their implementation (A. Vanišová).
V. Class: Lighting technology - types of lights and their use, installation and lighting operations, focus, lighting resources management (O. Růžička).
Discussion: group consultations on student idea in the context of using lighting technology for its implementation (A. Vanišová).
Task: proposal of the implementation palne for student ideas.
VI. Class: Presentation of studen idea implementation plans, group consultations and refinement (A. Vanišová, T. Procházka, E. Bartoš, O. Růžička).
Practical implementation of ideas, real interconnnection of technologies, solution consultations (A. Vanišová, T. Procházka, E. Bartoš, O. Růžička).
VII. Practical implementation of ideas, real interconnnection of technologies, solution consultations, finalization of results, final presentation of results (A. Vanišová, T. Procházka, E. Bartoš, O. Růžička).

Credit is awarded base on student class participation and creation of the final multi-media composition. Minimum attendance is 70%
