Learning outcomes of the course unit

  1. To prepare students from the set design atelier on the professional side so that they are able to carry out their set design assignments in both technical and technological respects.
  2. To create complete technical documentation for the realised assignments.
  3. To familiarise students with existing technologies for individual puppet types.
  4. To familiarise them with theatre approaches and their alternatives as regards technical solutions and use them creatively when realising their own projects.

Mode of study

  1. Technical treatment of the main semester assignment in the Stage Design course.
  2. A theatre program or poster for a given topic (title).
  3. Alternative procedures.
  4. Partial previews of contemporary technology trends.

Poster and program proposals are part of the semester exhibition in the bachelor's study.

Prerequisites and co-requisites

  1. Bases of technical drawing.
  2. Technological creativity.
  3. Ability to reflect on solutions for new assignments.
  4. Technical imagination.
  5. General knowledge of puppet theatre history.

Course contents

Curriculum

  1. Bases of technical drawing focusing on the specific features of the subject studied.
  2. Basic technology and construction of the puppet types used.
  3. Technical and technological preparation of production tasks.
  4. Individual consultation in solving independent projects.

Syllabus

Gaining basic knowledge in technical drawing and an overview of the technological and technical approaches used so far. Their use in practice.

Familiarisation with existing technologies for individual types of puppet and alternative approaches.

Creativity in seeking new technical solutions. The ability to prepare and process all technical documentation relating to the realisation of projects.

In cooperation with the main subject instructor the extent and qualtiy of the completed assignment is assessed.
