Learning outcomes of the course unit
To be able to select an appropriate prose text with good drama potential and based on it to create a script which will respect the basic literary context of the original text and also enhance its dramatic and theatrical qualities. This starts with a knowledge of the group for which the script is indentended (age, composition, experience, interests), and one's abilities and potential which is reflected in the selection of the manner of transformation of the basis and measure of the writer's share in the final form of the script.
Mode of study
Readings, moderated discussions, analyses of literary bases and other texts. Creative writing.
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Fundamental knowledge of literary theory issues and of basic dramaturgy; ability to sense the dramatic quality of a text and work with it with a idea of its possible staging; an active interest in theatre and the dramaturgy for children's and youth ensembles, personal experience in leading them.
Course contents
Original - Dramatization course introduces the basic potential of transforming prose into a drama base on one's experience in creating a script.

During the semester independent readings and participation in class discussions are required, particularly taking part in the consultation of colleagues' work.
