Student:

To explain the difference between research and other fact-finding activities.

Explanation of basic research paradigm.

Demonstration of the understanding of the logic of constructing research in model assignments.

Execution of independent final research (applying knowledge and skills).

Course contents

This course is designed for two semesters. The second semester is through consultations on the students' research project.

The course covers the fundamental methodologies of research in drama education, that is, theatre and drama arts. It presents the basic logic of research and in practice verifies the ability to apply it on a particular topic.

Topics:

Recognition of phenomena in the science - laic and scientific recognition and thought.

Fundamental concepts in research methodology in social and arts research.

General typology of research - paradigms, types.

Fundamemtal types of research in arts education and their methods.

Research structure and its methods.

Specific considerations related to human behaviour research.

Independent research projects and their application in practice.
