Learning outcomes of the course unit

  1. Students will be introduced to the purpose of Project Management used in specific life and work situations.
  2. Students will be able to perform well-timed planning, set up goals of specific activities, estimate their meaning and practical impact, and eventually estimate the Return of Investment (or energy) put into these activities.
  3. Students will gain practical skills to view the goals in wider contexts – either economic, social (influencing other people and project stakeholders), or interpersonal contexts, including the relationship to themselves.

Mode of study

Group activities, concrete practical examples, social games and problem solving. The course is held in four five-hour education blocks.

Prerequisites and co-requisites

Completion of preceding subjects Team Management I and II.

Course contents

The goals of the first subject of the Project Management series are:

Emphasis is put on the social aspect of Project Management –team work, interpersonal arrangements, work under stress, and respect to each other.

Assessment methods and criteria

Independent activity of students is expected. Students will bring their own practical problems arising from the project management and issues to be solved in the class.

The subject will be credited when the student fulfills 75 percent of course hours by active participation in the class.
