Learning outcomes of the course unit

The student is to be able to promptly react in publishing to contemporary events of all manner - interview, commentary, analysis, commentators. The student must know contemporary theatre (and drama in media), the target audience. The student must be able to write and essay or analytical writing at a good stylistic and language level and know the exact terminology. Have a sense of intelligibility and writing readablility.

Mode of study

Class, moderated discussion.

Prerequisites and co-requisites

Interest in contemporary arts events - including exhibitions, film, literature, theatre - is understood. Contributions to critique and discussion periodicals - at least internet periodicals. Participation in the life of the arts community and its review.

Course contents

A Multi-study coure, focused not only on theatre but other types of the arts and public phenomena in which the student is aware of all the elements of theatricality and drama. Attention focuses on the performance of communicative tools, not only for the theatre critic but also for TV and radio drama and their reviews. Considerations of the audience, and what „taste“ and „entertainment“ categories. At the close of the study, we return to the language and stylistic tools of writings and writing analyses of theory and critical essays. Considerations of theatre take place inseparable from a review of societal and media realities and their conflicts and changes.

Assessment methods and criteria

An essay on any topic in the arts and one theatre critique. Requirement for grading is discussion participation during instruction, contributing topics and one's suggestions
