Learning outcomes of the course unit
- Introduce the basics of theatre theory.
- Guide students in domestic and foreign theatre issues - theory terminology, primarily the issue of terminology.
- Introduce the function principles of a theatre piece and its components.
Mode of study
Concept interpretation, theory text reading and analyses, recording analyses.
Prerequisites and co-requisites
No requirements.
Course contents
- Theatre semiotics.
- Zich Aesthetics terminology of drama arts.
- Components of a theatre work (visual, acoustic, acting, audience).
- Components of theatre works (dramaturgy, directing, acting, visual - artistic, acoustic, in particular types of theatre and literature).
- Comparison of various theory approaches and theatrology concepts focusing on the creation of a theatre work.

Assessment methods and criteria
Grading and credit is awarded based on a minimum of 80% participation in lectures, which is a condition for sitting the exam. Grading is completed at the end of the lecture cycle by an oral or as the case may be, written exam.
