Learning outcomes of the course unit

To introduce students to the basic concepts of theatre theory which allows them to review, primarily, their own creations and more precisely and knowledgably analyse various stage forms.

No requirements.

Course contents

This course covers some basic theatre theory concepts enabling a perception and review of the system and structure of theatre as a specific type of art.

Fundamental topics:

Theatre space.

Performance and production (stage form, production).

Performance.

Theatre situation, its rise and function.

The specifics of the theatre signals system.

Basic subsystems of a theatre system (motivation - management, audience, stage).
