Course contents

All instructors of our department are potential leads for the scriptwriting workshops. Some workshops in the past year will continue (Dufek, Dutka, Dohnal, Jarchovský, Soukup, Vanča), others may be opened next year.

The student is to remain in at least one workshop during the semester. Considering the content of the basic task (adaptation, bachelor's or graduate script) it is best to remain the entire year. The workshops are open to all students from the 2nd to 5th study years. The border between the bachelor's and master's study is not relevant. This means master's student may work on a graduation film under the advisory of the instructor of their choce and this is valid also for bachelor's students. As well attendance at the advisor's classes of that year continues to be required.

Dept. of Scriptwriting and Editing students are to register for workshops with the Dept. secretary at least three weeks before the start of the semester. The choice of partner is also free. The program and structure of the workshop is decided just before the workshop by the workshop lead in agreement with the Dept. head.

The workshop is open to students in other studies - their participation is welcomed if they collaborate on a group project with the Dept. of Scriptwriting and Editing students. They work with students of Directing as the scriptwriter, etc.

Regarding sources, according to which the student is to decide for one or another screenwriting workshop, we refer to the profiles of teachers, published on the FAMU website, for personal experience, respectively other students shared experiences and the possibility of personal contact in office hours.

Participation in the scriptwriting workshop does not except advising from other instructor in their office hours. The Dept. of Scriptwriting and Editing has experienced successful multi-lateral collaboration. This is supported by an atmosphere of mutual support and tolerance even if differences of opinion are encountered because these are the nuances of personal perspectives.
