Course contents

Meeting of students from Depts. of Directing, Camera, and Documentary Film. Students arrange a Director-Cameraman crew and shoot a short film with specific formal camera tasks.

For the award of credit: Completed film which is then screened at FAMU in the presence of instructors.

Note

Studied at Construction Faculty of ČVUT and directing at FAMU. He worked as a directing assistent with Věra Chytilova on the film Dědictví aneb Kurvahočigutntag (1992). He attracted attention in the school film Zahrádka ráje (1994), which made its way into Czech distribution. He successfully debuted with the feature-film Divoké včely (2001).

Bohdan Sláma (1967, Opava) studied at the Construction Faculty of ČVUT and directing at FAMU (1997). He attracted attention with the school film Zahrádka ráje (1994). He completed the medium-length tragic-comedy film Akáty bílé (1996), which made its way into Czech distribution. He successfully debuted with the feature tragic-comedy Divoké včely (2001).

Film overview:

In 1996 he completed directing studies at Prague FAMU, with the feature film Akáty bílé (60 min.), which was shown in cinemas. His feature film debut Divoké včely (2001) won the WPRO Tiger Award at this years International Film Festival in Rotterdam. Zuzana Kronerova in a supporting role won the Czech Lion award for her performance. Divoké včely was awarded the Kodak Vision award for best debut of a Czech film at the Plzen Finale where it also won an award from the Czech Association of Film Clubs. Tatiana Vilhelmová in the starring role was announced ats the best actress in a readers' poll of the film magazine Cinema. In May of 2002 the film won the award for best SKYY debut at the International Film Festival in San Francisco. Along with Pavel Göbel and Tomás Doruška, Bohdan Sláma with his school exercise Zahrádka ráje (1994), took part in the narrative film Radhošť (2002). The 28t Summer Film School.
