Explain the basics of the practice and standard procedures in independent editing in Adobe Premiere Pro and Avid Media Composer.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Basics of working with a PC or Mac.
Each student brings the assignment materials for the „Editing Basics“ course ( (Ondřej Vavřečka) and current edit
It is helpful to bring one's personal computer with Premier Pro or Media Composer installed to complete the exercises.
Course contents
Adobe Premiere and Avid Media composer
- setting up a project, settings, user interface
- avalable data, appropriate formats and codecs for editing, offline/online
- project materials organization, bins, sequences, subsequences
- timeline, keyboard shortcuts and tools panel
Fundamental working process
- Import and synchronization of material: Pluraleyes, autosync, merged clips, subclips
- Overview of materials and shots: markers, comments, arranging in sequence
- Rough cut: clip adjustments, working in Timeline, edited version
- Final cut: Trim mode, sound adjustments, basics of effects, sub-titles
- Export: formats and codecs, bitrate (+preview files, same as source,QT reference...)
- Image and sound recording for further post-production (EDL, XML, OMF, AAF), project consolidation
