Learning outcomes of the course unit

A deepening of the mutual relationship between the students and the instrutors based on monitoring student films currently in the making and comparing them with classic works.

Presentation of film theory, refining views and development of skills in defending one's own work.

Mode of study

Screenings and film analyses, discussions.

Prerequisites and co-requisites

Creativity and developed school film for presentation.

Course contents

The Assembly is required for all Documentary Dept. students (to receive credit minimal participation is 3 full days). Students receive a stipend for room and board at Poněšice. Traditionally, this is a unique opportunity to meet with instructors and students from the Dept.with fruitful discussions about film, the stance and events in the Dept. and the surrounding world.

Recommended or required reading

Each student brings a special type of education (many have already studied at another higher institution of learning).

Debates about contemporary sociological, political and philosophical issues.

We expect students to come with questions about those areas (from their own sources).

Assessment methods and criteria

Participation in the Assembly for each student in each study year is obligatory.

Note

During the Assembly in Poněšice, students present their films and samples from them.
