lighting in a film studio showing intentional lighting solutions, with an emphasis on emotional impact.

advanced experience as cinematographers, ability to handle complex filmmaking tasks.

Mastering to analyze the scenic luminance.

Course contents

35mm colour film in studio (60m each student)

creating atmospheres and moods through lighting;

scenic lighting to achieve emotional impact of a chosen concept

light situations are derived from real, existing ones in interiors, being confronted with a simulated light situation in an exterior

Each student chooses a lighting situation and shoots individually for one day. all students present all the time, teacher present partially

students deliver a “protocol”: floorplan, lighting plan, samples

analog postproduction in WS: screening, analysis on editing table

digital postproduction in SS: 4K SCAN, digital grading during seminar “Colourgrading Workshop 2”

screening with confrontation of digital print vs. film print
