Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students are acquainted with the use of accounting tools in executing work as executive producer focusing on the implementation of a feature film, especially distribution of feature films

Mode of study

Introduction to film production history and film organization.

Defining activities for discussion introduced during instruction.

Introduction to student viewpoints and analysis of appropriate and inappropriate variants, outlining of reasons for inappropriate variants.

Prerequisites and co-requisites

Presumed is a good basic bearing in economic concepts such as: expenses, investment, money flows, depreciation, VAT and the like.

Knowledge of basic AVD production technology, its procedures from the screenplay to the premier.

Ability to analyse a screenplay focusing on cirtical places for production and from an organization and cost point of view.

Basic overview and legal awareness of copyright, the labor code, civil code and commercial law.

Course contents

1/ Introduction - Introduction to the course, links to other course, view of history.

2/ Economic content of production: main economic functions: financing investment and economic managment

3/ Economic attributes of a project: types of projects, script and the course of its generation, historical periods, environments, seasons, casting, crew.

4/ Requirements for creating a production plan, economic risks of a plan, relationship of the plan to calculations

5/ The budget as an economic calculation, types of budgets, quality of materials.

6/ Reserves and risks in calculations

7/ Calculation negotiations, resolving conflict points, measure of risk of individual decisions.

8/ Profit in calculations

9/ Commercial significance of calculations for negotiating project price, establishing project prices, types of implementations

10/ Execution for a fixed established cost, measure if risk of this approach

11/ Execution through invoicing costs, advantages, risks and disadvantages.

12/ Conclusion, assessing the semester, student assessment.
