Learning outcomes of the course unit
Checking the quality of acquired knowledge in workshop instruction. Checking the quality of work in exercises and independent activities in broadening a cultural view.
Mode of study
Students independently completed individual items necessary for achieving the summary exam. The workshop lead is prepared to provide the necessary consultation.
Active participation in workshop class hours is required for achieving the summary exam.
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Corresponding knowledge of AV production technology, copyright, commercial law and labor code. Personal experience from attendance at films and theatre performances. Personal visits to significant arts exhibitions. Readings of literary works, etc.
Course contents
The Summary Exam is comprised of two parts:
- Work on the group exercises
- The cultural view of the student presenting their interest in culture during the academic year.
Both parts are equal and irreplaceable.
The cultural view of the student presents at least:
The Production Dept. student must must have a professional bearing in the current events of film and television (know the names and characteristics of writers and producers, see at least 50% of the premiers of new Czech films, know new TV formats and trends in individual network channels.)
Must have a good knowledge of contemporary theatre (see at least 4 simultaneous theatre performances, know writers and be able to characterize some theatres).
Must have a good knowledge of contemporary literary works with an emphasis on Czech literature (require reading of at least three books.),
In the exam a good bearing in other areas of contemporary cultural life is required (graphic arts, music, clubs, cultural periodicals, etc.)
Recommended or required reading
Workshop instruction material, Exercise production material, basic agreement types used in the production of the exercise, copyright, labor code.
Assessment methods and criteria
The Summary Exam takes place before the commission which is comprised of workshop leaders and the Photography Dept. head.
The Summary Exam contain two equal and irreplaceable parts:
- The student presents and places before the commission their work on practical exercises during the according academic year.
- The student presents their „cultural view“ acquired during the previous academic year (see the detailed description in „Course Content“)
To achieve participation in the Summary Exam, student participation in the workshop hours is required.
