Learning outcomes of the course unit

The aim of the course is to support the education activity of the students and film oriented studies' students in formal and informal education. Film/Audio-visual education is taught sporadically in Czech schools. There are no accredited teachers. We are changing this situation.

Mode of study

Společná setkání budou mít charakter dílen. Studenti dostanou příležitost konzultovat a rozvíjet své vlastní didaktické projekty, které musí završit do konce letního semestru.

Prerequisites and co-requisites

Students, at the first meeting, must present their educational project which they will work on during the semester. Project annotation must be sent by Thursday, March 21 to: jiri@freecinema.cz and sobotovapavla@seznam.cz. Consultations about the form of the transmitted project are possible at the same addresses. The project form may also be consulted about at the first lesson. We, intentionally do not create any limits to how the project is to appear. STudents may work on a project which is related to their study area or original film. They may consult about their pedagogical preparations for activities at schools; in recreational environments. Students may work on the dramaturgy of a film club, film survey tools, instructional performances or comprehensive lecture introduction.

The foundation of the educational project must be working with a group of students or audience members based on priorly limited educational aims. Film Education workshop students should as a mission be active in the cinematographic spectrum.

Course contents

The film education workshop creates a space for students who are interested in instruction/lecture practice in film studies in the field of formal and informal education. We begin convinced that the educational (mission) activity of the students may in the best sense of the purpose determine their own orginal work.

The meetings are designe as an open workshop where students will be able to develop and consult on their ideas for their educational project. The foundation is to be conscientious work with a group of students or audience members, guiding them in the develpment of film topics. Film education workshop students should implement their projects during the Summer semester or thoroughly be prepared for implementation in the Winter semester.

Životopisy přednášejích:

Jiří Forejt

Dramaturg, pedagog, metodik. Absolvent filmové a televizní produkce na FAMU. Autor a iniciátor konceptů práce s publikem realizovaných v letech 2013- 2016 v kině Ponrepo. Inicioval vznik oddělení filmové výchovy v Národním filmovém archivu. Zakladatel a předseda správní rady společnosti Free Cinema Pofiv ops. Působí jako producent kreativního labelu Free Cinema Films. Spolupracuje na distribučním Projektu100 jako metodik. Od roku 2016 organizuje vzdělávací semináře pro filmové profesionály Jak uvést film. Od roku 2017 působí jako dramaturg Marienbad Film Festival. V současnosti realizuje na FAMU doktorský výzkum zaměřený na práci s publikem v prostoru kina. Na FAMU přednáší o tématech spjatých s filmovou výchovou, prací s publikem, o kinematografii atrakcí a italském filmu.

Martin Čihák

Vystudoval matematicko-fyzikální fakultu UK (obor učitelství), poté absolvoval Filmovou a televizní fakultu – FAMU (katedra střihové skladby) a nakonec postgraduální studium na katedře filmové vědy FF UK, které ukončil v roce 2004 obhajobou disertační práce Skladebné postupy filmových avantgatd. která v rozšířené a přepracované formě vyšla v roce 2013 v NAMU pod názvem Ponorná řeka kinematografie. V knize Distanční montáž Artavazda Pelešjana (NAMU, 2017) publikoval text Didaktika distance věnovaný problematice výuky distanční montáže.
