Learning outcomes of the course unit

The aim of the course is an introduction to digital workflow preparations of print materials from the acquisition of treated documentary photographic sampbles (characteristic indicators of materials and their damage) through their editing, color managment to the publication of image material and text with text via PDF/X collections intended for print.

This study is the creation of a photograph reproduction surface artwork, macroscopic and microscopic photos, light sources, light color measurements, color models CIE XYZ, CIE Lab, color deviations - E color management basics - ICC profiles, calibration and profilization monitors, table printers, scanners; Use of ICC profiles in Adobe CS4 (or CS5); digital data archiving basics; preparations for print in Adobe InDesign; export of a corrected PDF collection intended for (polygraphic) print. PostScript, PS collection, Print into PS (continuing with PS controls), PDF, PDF/X-1a (PDF/X-3), creation of the PDF/X-1a collection from the Adobe InDesign application through PS - PDF, Print on a PDF printer, direct export; correction control of PDF/X type of collection in Adobe Acrobat.

Practice image documentation of treated examples and their print publicatoin for color management use and with text through PDF/X.
