Mock-up of a publication dealing with the city center of Prague

The city of Prague is currently undergoing observable changes. Along with Wenceslas Square we see as well the „pulsing“ metropolitan center and other locations. Prague is becoming a cosmopolitan and dynamic city. Every day we see around us interesting situations, new contexts or interesting city scenes. Chronicle these changes in fresh and personal manners and create from these photos a publication...

Working process:

1/ selection of place and write up of an outline of the project on A4

2/ after consultation with the instructor, photograph and as well bring out new contacts or views

3/ select 20-30 photos and create a book mock-up

4/ final form of the publication is to be finished in June 2013.

Mode of study

The student works either in analog or digital, color or B/W on the collection upon consultation with the instructor and according to the character of the topic and one's own intentions.

Prerequisites and co-requisites

No prerequisites.

Course contents

In the winter semester, students create a photo report on a clearly defined topic which they will choose. This may include school activities as well, ex: a report about the shooting of a school film or the creation of theatre performance, etc, or one may be chosen for them. Upon consultation with the instructor and the writing of a short explication (max. one standard page) the report is implemented. 6 -10 photos in minimum 18x24 cm format. Communicability, imagination and original approach to the assigned topic are evaluated.
