Learning outcomes of the course unit
Projects in the master's study have the goal of broadening the sources of creative inspiration and to link art theory and history instruction to studio instruction. Emphasis is place on one's review of conteporary theory theses, history of the development of individual medium and creation of an art project in the given topic framework. An essential part of this are one's own research of the topic, communicating information and final presentation in the appropriate medium.

Course contents
Advantage, error, unintention
The project acquaints students with the potential for using the advantages (i.e. intentional suppression of artist control) in art with an emphasis on the role of technological devices: issues of automatism and unintention is in essence linked to the development of photographic or recording devices (unawares, aware and involuntary human events at the end of the 19th century are uncovered and modeled on the example of these black boxes. Similarly, routine gestures and habits are understood as their own type of mechanization or automation of human activity and processes.) Contemporary art originates in a much more intensiveform of interaction with devices, working with their programs while redefining the understanding (artistic) intentions and relationship of free will and determinism.
