In the process students will learn the knowledge and experience necessary to be able to create their own bookbindings. The module will start from the basis of V1 bookbinding throughout Japanese style bookbindings and will finish with classical sewn V4 / V5 bookbindings. Entire process will be demonstrated on real sewing of the specific binds. We will also look into finishing processes (trimming, gluing, and pressing) and optional specific alterations. In the process of preparation of digital data for printing we will take a look into the specifics of color workflow and processing of documents into a form matching each of the specific bookbinding types.
