Learning outcomes of the course unit

The aim of the course is to improve knowledge of sound dramaturgy by knowledge of interactive sound design and adoption of the basic principles of working with sound in an interactive environment - at the theory level and in practical examples in Middleware FMOD and the game engine Unity.

Mode of study

Teoretická část výuky bude probíhat formou přednášek. Cvičení v softwarech FMOD a Unity bude probíhat formou společných cvičení a individuálních konzultací.

Prerequisites and co-requisites

Znalost práce s DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) a základů zvukové dramaturgie.

1st Week (History)

2nd, 3rd and 4th weeks (Interactive sound dramaturgy)

5th week (Workflow and basic work with interactive sound in Unity - Basics)

6th week (Unity - continuation)

7th week (FMOD - basics, UI, linking with Unity)

8th week (FMOD - dynami sounds and atmosphere)

9th week (FMOD - motors and parameters)

  1. week (FMOD - music dynamics + project submission)

11th, 12th and 13th week (FMOD - Unity - work on the project)

14th week (Resulting formats + project grading)

Assessment methods and criteria

This course is concluded with credit. Credit is awarded based on sufficient attendance (min. 70% of all total classes) and completion of the assigned project.
