Learning outcomes of the course unit
Basic preparations for working with sound in the group AV exercise.
Mode of study
Exercises performed under the direct monitoring of the instructor.
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Completion of the preliminary mixing exercise.
Course contents
Students learn to consider the relationship between the image and sound, about proportions and dimensions of individual sound tracks, sound transitions, aesthetic values in different sound categories. All knowledge is reviewed in one's own mixing. As well students master the technology and acquire the basics of practical skills in real-time mixing.
- Introduction to the technical equipment series of the studio
- Review of theory and introduction to the mixing plan
- The mix
a) design of the prepared sound track + discussion
b) pre-mix of dialogues + discussion
c) pre-mix of background noise + discussion
d) final mix - premix of dialogue + pre-mix of background noise + post-synchronization + music
e) Checking design of the mix and discussion
f) mix adjusments
During the semester the students, graduallly, in mixing will take turns and exchange mixed material.

Assigned sound material.
Assessment methods and criteria
Credit is awarded for activity in instructor lead practical work.
