Learning outcomes of the course unit
Lectures focus on basic of editing. Using examples from feature and animated film, students are acquainted with the axis principle, shot function, unity of place, time and event. The student is acquainted with composition forms such as sharp cuts, cross cuts, parallel montage, rapid montage, examples of film interpunction and basics of working with sound. All this is with an emphasis on animated film specifics. In moderated discussions students will analyse film procedures which artists used and will be guided to forming questions on the importance of individual shots, sequencing and final version of the whole film.
