Learning outcomes of the course unit
The lectures are focused on the fundamentals of editing composition. Descriptive feature-length and animated film examples introduce students to central rules, shot function, location uniformity, time and events. Introduction to the composition forms such as sharp editing, cross editing, parallel assembly, rapid assembly with film punctuation and the fundamentals of working with sound. All this with an emphasis on the particulars of animated film. In directed discussions the students will analyze film processes which the writers used and will be guided to presenting issues in individual shots, sequences and final version of the entire film.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Theory and practical knowledge corresponding to the to-date completed lectures and exercises.

The course content includes an analysis of editing processes in animated film.
