Learning outcomes of the course unit

By the end of the course students will be able to:

•Understand concepts of safety and correct use of a different technical equipment

•Adopt the vocabulary used within film production concerning the work on set of the Cinematography department

•Analyse how to approach to different situations on set and how to use the equipment in the more accurate way

•Understand the different positions of the cinematography crew members and work with harmony with them

Course contents

The aim of the course is to introduce the basic technical knowledge of Camera, Lighting and Grip equipment while working on set as a team with safety. Students will be able to discuss towards the practice how and when to use different kind’s equipment for their future projects in the school and beyond. Furthermore, students could have an approach to understand the different functions of the cinematography crew and how to interact with it during the production of their projects.
