Learning outcomes of the course unit

The aim of the course is an introduction to the basic production and post-production tools of audio-visual pieces.

Prerequisites and co-requisites

Žádné. Doporučeno pro všechny studenty, povinně v 1. ročníku.

Course contents

  1. Editing basics

Composition exercises. Selection, ordering shots and tempo-rhythm - interpretation and editing of umfamiliar rough material. Adoption of composition considerations. Introduction to Editing workflow. Software: Final Cut Pro 6 or 7 or Avid Media Composer.

  1. Camera and editing (summary exercise 2 - Does this need to be communicated?)

The exercises serve as an introduction to film language. Students prepare an simple topic which is personally interesting and which they would like to communicate to an audience using film.

The resulting piece is to demonstrate ones position regarding the topic, create communication using image language. Emphasis is placed on how a piece arises in the process, its ability to communicate with others.

Basic documentary principles in the net WWW, XHTML< jQuery, CSS.

Exercise: Webpage

  1. Modular programming

Introduction to interactive applications. Overview of modular environments used.

Exercise: Sound visualization (PureData or Quartz Composer software, Processing according to advancement.)

  1. Intermedia Institute space. Playing with projection potential

Students use completed Modular programming exercises and compose them for a space or using them create and interactive environment.

Předmět je atestován na základě dostatečné docházky, písemného testu a/nebo samostatně realizovaného projektu, který dle zadání bude rekapitulovat všechna probíraná témata.

Note

Vznik tohoto předmětu reaguje na dlouhodobě se objevující mezery či závažné disproporce v základních uživatelských i kontextových znalostech studentů stran audiovizuálních technologií. Je určen primárně pro studenty prvního ročníku oboru Audiovizuální studia, v rámci kapacitních možností jsou vítani i ostatní studenti.

Výuka je zaměřena na pochopení souvislostí i získání výchozích praktických dovedností při práci s HW i SW při zpracování obrazu a zvuku. K této tematice existuje nespočet názorných výkladů na internetu, pro výuku jsme vybrali ty nejvhodnější z hlediska potřeb našich studentů.
