Course contents

The ITT Creative workshop is intended to introduce student to the process, conceptualization, technological treatments and completion of multimedia installations and multimedia performances - „Stage“ presentations of audiovisual works, from the technical and aesthetic aspects.

Contemporary creative works, kinetic, multimedia and interactive objects, installation or performances often require non-standard technical solutions, linking the utilization of mechanical, electronic, optical, acoustic and other systems.

In the creative workshopa IIM, there will be an introduction to the context in which these concepts and finalizations originate and we will investigate the optimal technical and artistic solutions according to specific ideas and intentions of workshop participants.

It is crucial to judge the functionality and feasibility of the proposed solution, articulate clearly and distinctly one's project, put together its description, visualization and presentation, discuss its bases and processes, learn to estimate costs and time needed for its completion, search for suppliers of needed materials and specialists for consultation and completion.

The workshop focused on, primarily on creative use of a wide spectrum of devices and expressive instrument, which can be used in the IIM lab.

Part of the workshop can be individual and team conceptions and model solutions of inter-media projects, discussions about the used scale of devices, their mutual linkages, image formats (slide-projector, video, film), experimental use of projection surfaces (objects, colors, textures), various types of light sources (artificial, natural), variou models of arranging video projections, processing and working with multi-channel sound and connecting the interactivity to the installation or performance forms.
