Course contents
Students adopt conscientious working methods with basic film expression elements.
While the first three semesters of the course deal with categories of expression in film language, the second three semesters concentrate on the method of using these options, with a focus on real practical examples.
The aim is to clarify the relationship among the key particular visual means of expression in film and the ways of their use. In one seminar, the mentioned principles will be demonstrated and analyzed using footage from selected films. Further on, we will analyze the students' „homework“ – the ways of solution of a particular scene from a given script.
Topics:
•Basic visual means of expression – recapitulation
•Parallel editing and its purpose
•Dialogue between two, three or more actors
•Solutions of static dialogue scenes
•Image and movement I (object)
