Learning outcomes of the course unit

The course focuses on enhancing students' knowledge and practice in digital photography to the level of pre-print preparation, emphasising the creative side of printing design. The course is closely connected with the course „Typography and Graphic Design“, which includes working with the program Adobe InDesign. Lessons are aimed at the perfect mastering of digital print so that students are able to present their photographs - prints in exhibition quality. Finance permitting, piezography - carbon print will be presented to show a perfect scale in a monochrome print.

The student will create by themselves: ICC profiles for monitor, scanner and printer. They will use them for soft proof and hard proof in practice. To be able to cooperate better with a graphic studio the essential roles of image export into PDF image format will be explained and the basic pre-press and press terms as well.
