By the end of the course students will:

-define, interpret and use various narrative techniques and convert them from text into images and vice versa

-communicate clearly, fluently and effectively in a range of styles appropriate to the context

-engage effectively in debate and present arguments in a professional manner

Course contents

The course covers an introduction to concepts relating to drama, as well as epic and lyrical narrative. Guided by teacher, students l analyze how these are synthesized through film. Students practice to sort audio-visual shots into groups of sentences and sequences that deliver a narrative. Students will learn to o define their direct impact on the audience. The course defines a film as an art, working with drama and epic.

Assessment methods and criteria

Minimum required attendance to the class is + 70%

The students are evaluated based on the class activity and oral exam.

The course grade will be calculated as follows:

Attendance of the classes - 30%

Activity in class - 30%

Oral exam - 40%
