Obsah kurzu

The course takes the form of a seminar and joint consultations on a specified topic. As this is the first cycle of the MA practicum, the topic is chosen to unify the MA year, to link it with the English programme and to give students a thorough introduction to the work and authorship of their colleagues. These topics are therefore generally related to the contemporary position of photography and the technical image in the contemporary context of the visual arts, general issues of production and post-production, or current significant phenomena and tendencies in contemporary art. Students learn to search, analyze and develop sources of inspiration in the field of expressive tendencies and the work of their predecessors. The course is closely linked to the other courses of the MA practice and is complemented by a joint visit to an important exhibition of world-wide significance, e.g. Venice Biennale, Documenta, Paris Photo, Manifesta, etc.

1 - introduction to the topic, introduction to the topic, introduction to the basic mechanisms and interconnection with other parts of the practicum, assignment of tasks for joint presentation

2 - joint presentation - introduction of the main points, part of the issue, authors dealing with the topic or related topics

3 - seminar - presentation of iconic works, principles and approaches that serve as a basic mapping of the topic

4 - seminar - discussion reflecting on a jointly visited exhibition of contemporary art of world significance

5 - comparison of own work with examples from the field of projects and work with own archive - searching for connections with the main theme verbalizing basic principles and dividing them into areas that the audience finds inspiring and supportive for their contemporary work

6 - joint presentation of the beginning of the author's research based on visual examples and a paper
